Rotary internal combustion engine or Gnome engine:
It consist of a seven cylinders in one plane and all revolve about a fixed center D, as shown in figure , rotary internal combustion is mostly used in aviation. But now a days gas turbine is used in that place. While Crank (link2) is fixed. In this mechanism , the piston ( link 3) reciprocates inside the cylinders forming link 1. and connecting rod used to rotates about a fixed point.
