The different between Cycloidal and Involute teeth forms is explained as follows:
Cycloidal Profile:
1) It is difficult to construct the cycloidal teeths.
2) In this pressure angle is varies from beginning to end, it is not constant.
3) This required accurate center distance.
4) In this Interference does not occur.
5) Cycloidal has more strength.
6) This has less wear.
Involute Profile:
1) Involute Profile type is easy to manufacture.
2) In this Pressure, the angle is constant throughout the engagement.
3) This type of Involute Profile does not require accurate distance.
4) In this Interference can occur.
5) Involute has less strength.
6) This has more wear.
