Difference Between a Pump and a Compressor: A pump and a compressor are both mechanical devices but there working conditions are different. A pump is used to supply the required liquid/fluid without any pressure difference and compression in supplying liquid but in a compressor, there is a difference in pressure and compression on supplying fluid.A pump can supply only liquids and in-compressible fluids by it, and a compressor is used to supply only compressible fluids like gases by it.

Pump:
- A pump is a mechanical device used to transfer the in-compressible liquids by it.
- It cannot supply the compressible fluids by it.
- This type of device has no changes in the temperature of the fluid supplied by it.
- This can increase the energy of the fluid passing through it.
- It does not contain any changes in volume.
- Pressure cannot be increased by it.
- Cost of a pump is comparatively less.
