Difference between the Flame hardening and induction hardening is as follows:
Flame Hardening:
- In this type of treatment, the process is done by heating the steel directly by an oxyacetylene flame and cooling it by cold water immediately.
- To do this work skill labor is required.
- In this equipment cost, is less and also less in maintenance.
- There are more damaging possibilities in this process.
- In this type of Hardening, It is difficult to produce the hardened zone less than 1/16th inch.

Induction Hardening:
- In this type of treatment, the process is done by passing the high-frequency current through the coil in which steel components are placed.
- Unskilled labor can do this work.
- This equipment cost is high and the cost of maintenance is also high.
- There is no damaging occurs.
