About convergent-divergent nozzle and its function
- This is a type of both convergent and divergent nozzles the middle part of this known as the throat. At the convergent portion, it is known as the subsonic flow which is m<1 and at the middle part of it is known as the sonic flow which is m=1, and at the divergent portion, it is known as the supersonic flow which is m>1.
- At convergent portion is used to increase the flow velocity, Throat is the middle part of it which drops in pressure and increases in flow velocity. divergent is used to produce the higher velocity at the end and work as a supersonic flow accelerator.

- This nozzle function is to increase the maximum flow rate and decrease the pressure.
- Nozzles are used to run the turbines, jet engines etc. with the help of high-speed steam flow, nozzles increases the steam flow speed to the maximum at the exist.
- The use of Convergent-divergent nozzle is at turbines, and to measure the fluid flow rate.
- In convergent nozzle, the cross-section decreases up to the end.
- This is used in steam turbines, steam injectors, and jet engines etc.
- In divergent, the cross section increases up to the end.
- This is used in steam injectors, jet engines etc.
