Advantages of Submerged Arc Welding:
- Submerged arc welding provides more deposition to joint the metals.
- It does not include scattered or splashed at the time of the welding process.
- Deep penetration is possible.
- There is a low chance for deformation.
- Clear and clean operation is possible.
- This type of welding process is fast.
- It includes a self-cleaning process at the welded area, due to deoxidation occurs by the flux at the time of welding.
- This type of process can be done through automatic control system also.
- It can work efficiently at open areas as possible as closed areas.

Disadvantages of Submerged Arc Welding:
- There is a chance to occur porosity at welding process.
- Thin metals cannot be welded correctly.
- It does not possible to weld in all positions.
- It is not easy to control the weld metal chemistry at the time of using alloys.
