Different types of belt drives:
Different Types of Belt Drives: There are different types of Belt Drives the Most Common Used Belt Drives are Flat Belt, V-belt, Round Belt, Circular Belt. Flat Belts are Mostly used in factories. V-Belt can transmit power from one pulley to another pulley.
Different types of Belts:
- Flat Belts:
- V-Belt
- Circular Belt

Flat Belts:
- Flat belts are mostly used type ones, this is used in factories, industries, and workshops.
- By this, a moderate amount of power is to transmit from one pully to another pully.
- this is used where the distance between the two pulleys are not more than 8m(<8).
V Belt:
- This is mostly used in factories, this can transmit a great amount of power from one pully to another pully.
- This is used where the distance between the two pulleys is 2m.
- A Very nearby near pulley are used to rotate by transmitting power using V belts.
Circular belts and Rope belts:
- This is used in workshops, industries to transmit a great amount of power.
- It has a round/circular in shape.
- This is used if the distance between the two pulleys is more than 8m(>8).
Belt drives are classified into three types.
Light drives: This are used to transmit a small amount of power, this is used where the speed is up to 10m/s. This is used in Agriculture machines.
Linear drives: This is used to transmit medium power, this type is used where the speed is 10m/s to 22m/s. This is used in machine tools.
Heavy drives: This is used where the amount of power transmission is large. this is used where the speed is above 22m/s. This is used in turbines, compressors, generators. etc.
